I am an animal lover through and through.  I have had pets ever since I was little and I believe that it is very important for children to grow up with pets around them.

There are many health benefits of owning a pet.  Pets can increase our opportunity to exercise, go outside and socialize with others.  They can help us manage loneliness and depression by providing us with companionship. Studies have shown that owing pets can increase one’s fitness level, lower stress and bring happiness to their owners. According to the CDC and studies conducted in this field, some of the benefits of owning pets include a decrease in blood pressure, decrease in cholesterol and a decrease in triglycerides.
