

For this project, you will need:
Premium KC yarn 90%cotton 10% acrylic – in cream, Turquoise or rose
Hair tie
4.00mm hook
Terms used in this pattern
Ch- Chain- YO hook. Draw yarn through the loop
Sc- single st – Insert hook into the chain. Draw yarn through chain and up onto the working area of the crochet hook (two loops on the hook).
Yarn over the hook from back to front, and draw it through both loops on the crochet hook (1 loop on hook)
dc- double crochet- Yarn over and pull through chain. (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through (2 loops on the hook).Yarn over again and pull through remaining 2 loops. One double crochet has been made
Shell – 5 shells together make a shell
St- stich
Sl st- slip stitch- hook through the st. 2 loops on hook. Pull second loop through the first loop.

Round 1 -Make 50 sc around the hair tie. Sl st. ch 2
Round 2- dc in each sc. Sl st. ch 2
For a double colored scrunchie scarf, end the first color and attach the second color.
Round 3- (shell, sl st) until the end. sl st to the 1st dc.. End. cut of yarn and weave in ends.
Ties
Make 2 – I made mine with a different color but you can make it with the same color if you want to.
** the ch 2 at the beginning of each row will be counted as 1 dc**
Ch3
Row 1 – dc in the 1st chain that you made. Ch 2 = 2 dc
Row 2- dc in the same st at ch2 and 2 dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 4 dc
Row 3- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX1- 2 dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 5 dc
Row 4- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX2 -2 dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 6 dc
Row 5- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX3 -2dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 7 dc
Row 6- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX4 -2dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 8dc
Row 7- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX5 -2dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 9 dc
Row 8- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX6 -2dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 10 dc
Row 9- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX7 -2dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 11dc
Row 10- dc in the same st at ch2 – dcX8 -2dc in the next dc. Turn. Ch 2= 12dc
**now dc does NOT count as a stitch**
Row 11-12 – dc in each dc. Turn. ch 2 = 12 dc
Row 13- dec dc- dc 7- dec dc . turn. ch 2= 9 dc
Row 14- dec dc- dc 5 – dec dc. Turn ch2 = 7 dc
Row 15- dec dc- dc 3 – dec dc. Turn ch2 = 5 dc
Row 16- dec dc- dc 1 – dec dc. Turn ch2 = 3 dc
Row 17- dec dc- dec dc. Turn ch2 = 2dc.
End. leave a long tail to attach to the scrunchie.
Fold the end and attach to the scrunchie. Add a couple of stitches to the folded tie to keep it folded
