Applique – Cat
For the cat applique, you will need:
Caron simply soft off white – 294023
4.25 mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Black floss – for whiskers and eyes
Pink floss – for nose
MC – ch 2
Round 1- 10 sc in MC sl s tch 1=10
Round 2 –(sc inc) X10 each dc – sl s tch 1= 20sc
Round 3- (2sc, inc sc)X10 sl s tch 1– 30 sc
Round 4- (3sc, inc sc)X10 sl st– 40 sc
Let’s work on the ears
Ear 1
sc 3, ch1 turn.
(sc dec) sc=2 sc ch 1 turn
(Dec)
Sl st 2 times to come back to the head
Sl st 8 on the top of the head
Work on the second ear
Ch1
Sc 3, ch 1 turn
sc dec) sc=2 sc ch 1 turn
(Dec)
Sl st 2 times to come back to the head
Hdc 5 around the head, sc 15, hdc 5 and sl st to the base of the first ear.
End . Cut off yarn. Leave strand to attach to the block.
Using the floss, embroider as indicated.
For the Letter C
Chain 20
Round 1- hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and 4 more ch
(Hdc inc)X8, hdc in the last 5 ch. Fasten. Leave strand to attach to the block.
