For the applique, you will need:
Caron simply soft taupe
4.25 mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Black floss for nose
Some white yarn for muzzle
MC – ch 2
Round 1- 10 hdc in MC . sl st – ch 2
Round 2 – 2 hdc in each dc . sl st– ch 2= 20hdc
Round 3- (2hdc, hdc)X10 . sl st ch 2– 30 hdc
Round 4- (2hdc, hdc, hdc)X10 . sl st – 40 hdc
Cut off yarn. Leave long strand to fasten to the block.
Muzzle
With white
MC – ch 2
Round 1- 10 hdc in MC . sl st – ch 2
Round 2 – (2hdc, hdc)X10 . sl st= 15 hdc
End. leave long strand to attach to head.
Ears
With white
ch 8
sc in the first ch from hook
sc in the next ch
hdc in the next 2 ch
dc in the next 2 ch
tr in the last ch.turn
in all the st going to the beginning sc. Sl st.
fasten. End
Attach muzzle on face.
Attach ears on each side of the face.
using embroider floss in black, embroider the nose, eyes and mouth as shown above.

Row 1 -Sc in second ch from hook and 9 more chains.
Ch 15
Sl st into the first sc (row 1)
Ch1
Hdc X15 around the ch 15
Sl st into first sc from row 1.
Cut. Fasten. Leave long strand to attach to block.
